| | | We offer evening classes, multi-day workshops, and one-day overviews -- something for everyone, whether you are local or join us from afar. In each of our classes students will have the opportunity to learn and use the same techniques, tools and materials that Roman and Byzantine craftsmen used 2000 years ago: the hammer and hardie, marble, and smalti. All of our classes are appropriate for all skill levels, and are limited to 4 persons to ensure individual attention to each participant.
EVENING CLASSES
During this course participants will be instructed in the Ravenna technique. Students will complete one mosaic in the traditional technique to take home. Evening classes meet twice per week for 8 lessons, from 6pm to 9pm.
Tuition for the evening classes is $340 plus a materials fee of $80. Schedule: The evening classes are ongoing, and participants may begin on any Tuesday provided there is space.
5-DAY WORKSHOPS
We offer two types of 5-day workshops.
The Traditional covers both the Ravenna and the direct techniques of mosaic making. In this workshop, participants complete two mosaics to take home, one using each technique.
The Architectural covers techniques for applying mosaics to architectural settings, both for walls and floors. Participants complete one project to take home. Tuition for the 5-day workshops is $600 plus a materials fee of $120 . Schedule: For workshop dates please see schedule below. Classes meet from 9am to 5pm with a break for lunch.
3-DAY WORKSHOPS
Participants in the 3-day workshop complete one mosaic using only the direct technique.
Tuition for the 3-day workshops is $370 plus a materials fee of $80 .
Please Note: The Direct Technique workshops can be scheduled upon request. Please contact us at least 2 weeks before your desired start date. Classes meet from 9am to 5pm with a break for lunch.
NEW! DISCOVERY SESSIONS
Are you curious but not ready for a full class? Sign up for a Discovery Session, a 3-hour lesson introducing you to the tools, materials and Ravenna technique of mosaic making. This information session is for anyone who is interested in learning more about our classes and about mosaics in general. A brief history of mosaics is included. Participants will also have the opportunity to try the hammer and hardie. Tuition for the Discovery Session is $70, and can be applied toward the tuition of a class taken within 3 months of attending the Session.

COURSE REGISTRATION & PAYMENT
To register for any of our classes, please send an e-mail to info@matteorandimosaics.com with your name, address, telephone number, the class you are registering for, and your preferred dates. All attempts to accommodate your choice of dates will be made. If a particular class is full, you will be notified and will have the option to select another. To guarantee your reservation, a deposit of $250 is required. Deposits are refundable up to 30 days prior to the start of the class. The balance will be due on the first day of class. Deposits and tuition balances can be paid by check, money order or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or American Express).
