Matteo Randi has been creating mosaics for over 20 years. His work can be seen in public, private, and gallery settings, in Italy, France, Luxembourg and the United States. His studio is located in the Washington, DC metro area.
Matteo’s pieces reflect the individual nature of each tessera, which he cuts by hand with the hammer and hardie, the same tools used by Roman craftsmen over 2000 years ago. This allows him to maximize the natural variations found in stone and glass, creating a distinct light and texture unique to each piece.
